FORESTERS' FETE.
The Auckland Foresters held a festival last evening at the Mechanics' Institute;, a. which there was a numerous attendance. Substantial justice having been dono to the good cheer provided for tho occasion, Brother Leslie was called to the chair, and business was proceeded with. The Secretary's report ■shewed that during the past ten years the amount received for sick and funeral purposes was £2, I.'JO Is, and for tlio management, £1,175 2s Od. Total, £3,305. During the same period £575 10s had been paid for medical attendance and to members unable to work through illness, £070. The funeral expenses amounted to £105. The expenses of the Court averaged _3:.0 por year. Since tho formation of the Court 3;iC members had joined, aud after deducting those who had left or died there remained now on the books 140 members. The bank account showed £1022 to the credit of tho Court, which, with property valued at £115, gave a total of £1137. Statistics were read proving the yearly increase of tho Foresters. At the conclusion of tho business a vote of thanks to tho chairman was put and passed. The large hall was then cleared for dancing, which was kept up until nearly daylight.
