WASTE OF WATER.
To the Editor of the Evening Star. Sir, —As water is so scarce in Auckland, I think it behoves us to prevent waste. I tried at four o'clock this morning to get a bucket of water at the stand pipe at the junction of Grey and Queen streets. I came down to the Exchange Hotel and could hear from there the rush of water in the urina! at the back of the British Hotel, if that had continued all night the water thus wasted would have supplied a hundred families.
I am, &c,
Nemo.
