CARDWELL.

January 17

Two fishermen went into the bay Friday last. The remains of both men have since been found naked on G-ould Island by the pilot. Their names are Henry Smith and Charles Clements. They were frightfully mutilated by the blacks. Their boat and net had been taken away. The sail was cut up. and the mast was lying near the bodies. The remains, which when found were much decomposed, were interred on the spot.
