CLOCK IN THE MECHANICS' INSTITUTION.
To the Editor of the Evening Stab !< What's a-clock, what's a»clock."
— Parrot Cry. Sib, —Can yon tell me what's become of the clock from the Mechanics' readingroom. I have enquired at Macready's, who, I was informed, was horologue-grapher to the institution, but ho says he knows nothing of it. It has now been non est for some weeks, and the want of it is much f.' in these dog-days and nights. We afraid of stoppiug too late, and thereby I Vventiug our excellent librarian from retiring in proper time to that rest his arduous duties entitle him to. Yours, &c, T. Mam.—l want to know at "what-a-clock " the annual meeting will be held, and who are to bo the new committee ?
[Probably the clock has met the fate in^ tended for the chemical laboratory.—Ed E.S.]
