Sir, —I was very glad to see that letter relative to the Onehunga pilot service, as I was the person alluded to who got discharged for refusing to pick potatoes.

I trust the authorities will adopt your suggestion and havethis affair investigated, as I will be then able to bring forward another transaction of Mr Wing's which occurred during the time I remained in the boat.

In conclusion, I wish to add that every lover of fair play must be grateful to you for the plucky way the Evening Star has stood in the breach. I am, &c, Francis Conway.
