THEATRE ROYAL.
The management have no cause to regret having reproduced " Ixion" last night. A well filled house unanimously testified their approval of both the piece and the performance. Some well sang songs were rendered by Miss Stephenson and other members of the company during the evening. We should like to see some songs introduced in this piece .suitable to the fine baritone voice of Mr McCabe. On the previous evening in the " Don Csesar" drama, he rendered the " Rhino wine" in a manner that one seldom has the chance of hearing, and received a raptuous encore. It is evident that the vocal powers of this gentleman are thoroughly appreciated by the audience. Ixion was preceded by " Josephine, or the Daughter of the Regiment." The heroine of the piece is Miss Stephenson's great impersonation. Mr Burford assisted greatly towards the success of the drama, nor must we omit Mr Hydes, Mr Booth, and Miss Flora Anstead, who in their respective roles acted in a manner that drew forth the highest enconinuns. The drama is a highly interesting one, the acting excellent, and the dresses superb. Both plays will bo repeated to-night.
