At the Resident Magistrate's Court, on Wednesday, before C. Mellsop, Esq., R.M., the following cases were hoard : — BrRACII OF THE MUNICIPAL PoIICB Ad. —Charles Hill was brought, up, in custody, charged with fighting and creating a disturbance in a public street. —Defendant did not appear to the summons, and was apprehended at - 'tahuhu. He now pleaded guilty, and was fined 20s, or one month. Larceny.—Jos-ph 01 arkson, a small boy, nine years of age, wus charged by Mrs. Dixon with stealing from her dwelling-house fivepenco, a penknife, ani an old watch. The boy admitted taking the money only. —After hearing evidence, and also as to the character of the boy's parents, which was not good, the Court convicted the boy, and sentenced him to twelve months' imprisonment, with a view to his being taken charge of in a reformatory. Civil Cask.—Thompson v. Bearer. —Claim £7 10s, on promissory note.—Judgment for plaintiff.
