MOUNT ALBERT WES LEYAN CHAPEL ANNIVERSARY.
Last evening the anniversary tea meeting, in cdnk.-ctibn with the Mount Albert1 Wepleyan I Chapel, was held, which proved, as was antijo pa'ed, a most de-dded'-Uccess. About 160 ip.-rsons partook of the good things provided. Atter tfea, the Rev. J. Buller >occupi ds the ichair, and, in a few appropriate remarks, introduced the several: speaker's. Ihe report showed that the chapel was completely free from debt, which caused the trustees to be relieved from a considerable amount of responsibility, *nd was a source of thankfulness to ialL The Key. C W. Rigg spoke upon •5 Worldly Fashions," the conforming to which by p-ofoi-sed Onrstians, if it did not retard their individual spirituality, at least put a •tumbling block in the path of others, causing them to suspect that religion was not all it profeesed. Ihe .subject: was. handled in an impressive manner, and was listened to [with great.-attention. The Rev. J. Berry chose for his theme " The Nose," a subject which was not regarded as being chosen or treated in good taste, and elicited general expressions of dissatisfaction. Mr. Ewington followed with an impromptu speech, which was well received. The meeting clos.d with the Benediction. The following ladies presided at the trays: —Mesdame* Garliok, Allen, Phillip, Ward.Turk, and Mo_r.
