THEATRE ROYAL.
This elegant little theatre was re-opened last evening, under the management of Mr. Hydes, whose talents arc too well known and appreciated to need further assurance that the performances could not be other tlian successful. iiie first pieced chosen for representation were a lanj{hU'r-nioviiig cojnydy, called " A Roland ior an Oliver," at;d In irresistibly ludicrous burlesque of "L& Sonna'iibu a." Mrs. Walter Hillj M- S3 >Jeßsie Wayuioml, Messrs. Jiydes, Waiter ilill, Thorpe, Bioth, and others well known to fame, sustained , ari,^ ; and as a ui'itter of certainty, th< success was great. It may easily he imagined that, as Hydes to*k the part of the sleep-walking damsel, Mrs. Walier Hill that of the Cout.t : Mr. iiill that of Rudolph, and that other parts were equally well appointed, witli a view to gain extra giotesqueiu-ss and turn the origin>l opera completely upside down, (he uudience were kept in ii slate of frantic laughter from beginning to end. Between the pieces M\: Glover danced tin; Highland fling, in a manner which cou.fl scarcely be surpassed. The programme will i>3 repeated this evening, and certainly all who prefer, fun to listening \»> the higher lljough less intelligibly ■ sthiiiia of the .e-jitiuiate opera, would do well to alton.l and enjoy an ovcuing's exquisite pleasure.
