BANE OF NEW ZEALAND AND ITS
COUNTRY CUSTOMERB. To the Editor of the Stab.
Sir,—lt is the custom of the Bank of New Zealand to charge one shilling upon every cheque drawn on any of their branch offices, in districts where no other bank carries on operations. As this must be a serious loss to the country settler.--, I am beyond measure surprised that they have not long ere this protested against tho imposition of so unfair a charge, and one so detrimental to their interests. If the bunk's customers would express their opinions and witihes in this matter plainly, no doubt !he concession would be at once made.—l am, &o ,
Waikato,
