AUCKLAND SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION ENTERTAINMENT.
The last of the series of winter evening entertainments, given by the Auckland Sunday School Union, was held yesterday evening, in the Wellesley-street school room. The present entertainment was styled " The Service of Song," and consisted of a variety of pieces of sacred music, rendered by about forty children from the associated schools. During the intervals, readings were given by Messrs. Ewinglon, E. W. Walker, and H. P. Cornford. The music was under the direction of Mr. Glanville, who has devoted considerable time and attention to the instruction of the cbildrßu. His efforts were well rewarded, by the performance of the choir of juveniles'. These entertainments, which have not only been pleasing, but of a popular and instructive character, have been well attended throughout, and great credit is due to the committee for their efforts in bo laudable a work.—Herald.
