The following is a'copy of a telegram received from the manager:—-

" Have fixed plumber blocks, and starte.d engine, at 8 o'clock. ( -There is ah improvement in the reef where we are under-cutting on the main run ; some good gold near the footwall. There is also a little- gold near the footwall in jNo. 3 winze. No change in stopes." ~

A steamer, supposed to be the Wellington with Southern mails, is signalled at Onehunga.
