The Star of the South, Capt. Holmes, arrived here this morning from Napier, with a cargo of cattle and sheep. Her news is unimportant. She will leave for Auckland to-day.
Caledonian —The engine has started. Good gold is visible in the foot wall of the main run ; also foot wall of No. 3, or large winze.
