Jadge Chapman's judgment in re Crook v Proudfoot was in favour of the promoters of the Port railway.—Meeting at Oamaru passed resolutions condemning the Provincial (Jovemment for non-fulfilment of the Provinces Dock Trust. A petition to the Assembly was adopted.—A miner named White has been killed by a fall of earth.—Michael Corntain has also been killed by a fall from his hone.— Bridget Gee, for concealment of birth, sentenced to two years.
