LATEST NEWS FROM LONDON TO AUGUST 7. — FROM NEW YORK, AUGUST B.—SAN FRANCISCO TO AUGUST 8.
The O.N.Z. and A.M.L.S.S. City of Adelaide, F. Moore, arrived froih'San Francisco via Honolulu, at 11.30 p.m. on 28th instant ; ten days six hours from last mentioned pert. She left Ijerula, on July 10, at 4 p.m., and "arrived aid Honolulu .at 6 p.na...on July 21 ; sailed agafa at 5 p.m. on July 22, and arrived at San Francisco on< August lj at 8 a.m. ; the left San Francisco on August 8, at 1 p.m. ; arrived at- Honolulu on August 16, at 1 p.m.; loft again on August 17, at 5 p.m., thus making the run in less than eight days, without any assistance whatever from the canvas. The total time occupied on the voyage from Sydney to San Francisco has been tkirty days eighteen hours, including fifty-four hours stoppage at Fiji and Honolulu. Passengers : — Messrs. B. Whitman, T. H. Esten, J. Alexander, Eugene Costa, Mr. and Mrs. Howell, W. Howell, R. Hazard, A. Jenkins, Mrs. A'Hern and child, H. Darmagen, J. Mills, B. Dodd, A. Greenaway, T. Armigan.
July 20.—The Common Council, London, voted not to give a banquet at Guildhall to the Crown Prince of Prussia.
July 21.—The Spanish Ministry resigned. Serrano, with difficulty, formed a new one. July 25.—Renewed rumours of the Pope's intention of abandoning Borne for Corsica, offered him by France.
July 26.—Tho Czar visited the Emperor of Germany at the Castle of Ingaheini, Bavaria. The Emperor goes soon to meet the Emperor of Austria at Graston.
July 27. —The Goodwood Cup was won by Sh&nnon, Favonius running second, and Mortimer third.
August I.—Tho Princo of. Wales, Prinoo Arthur, Duke of Cambridge, Princess Louisa, and the Marquis of Lome, wero received in Dublin rather coldly. The Prince of Wales protested his devotion to Ireland, and hoped the Queen would soon visit the island ; ho defended his brother from the charge »f being useless. He was made Provincial Grand Master of the Freemasons of Dublin, and Grand Patrori of tho Order in Ireland.
August 2.—M. Rout, leader of the abortive, attempted a revolution at Versailles, and was condemned to death.
Versailles Government has news of the Communists' revolutionary plot extending through the South of France, and all leading cities to be fired the same day. Second instalment of the German Indemnity paid; German army of occupation in France reduced to 150,000 men. Jules Favre has resigned portfolio, and returned to practice law. The Republicans in Assembly resolved to extend Thiers' term of office as first President of the Republic for three years.
July 6.—The Dublin riot on Saturday night, caused by a meeting to petition for the release of Fenian convicts, was dispersed by. tho police Every wjrujow •■„ 4 t |iC Gity" displaying flags of >•' hononr and loyalty wcro smashed. Over fifty people injured. Dublin, August 7The royal visitors left tbo city to-day. Crowds lined the streets through which they passed, but not. a cheer wub raised. The people preserved a dead silence, broken only by iv few hisses. Tho conduct of the Prince at Phcouix Park yesterday* wliich is denounced us brutal, has embittered tho population.
