PRINCE OF WALES THEATRE.

Boucicault's drama of the " Octoroon" was produced at the above theatre on Saturday in that careful and complete manner which characterises the productions which are at present placed upon the stage under Mr. Hoakins' supervision. Ever since this gentleman's arrival, the evidences of studious rehearsal, increased attention to detail, and the other adjuncts necessary to completion have been more and more apparent, and it is now a real pleasure to witness a performance at the Prince of Wales. The " Octoroon" has been played so often that a detail of the plot is unnecessary. Suffice it to say that the Salem Scudder of Mr. Hoskins was equal to his Major Jorum, which is tantamount to saying that it could not be better. Miss Colrille, as the Octoroon Girl, Zoe, played with much pathos and discrimination, and repeatedly received the appreciative plaudits of tho numerous audience. Mr. Kyan was excellent as Jacob McClosky; in fact it is a part which suits him to the life. The Wahnotee of Mr. Jones was very good, and a word of praise and encouragement is due to Master Kyan, who enacted the character of the boy Paul. Pete was monstrously funny, the scenery appropriate and good, and the other characters, which we have not space to enumerate, satisfactorily sustained. It will be repeated this evening. The introduction ot the last act is sensational, and entirely different from the author's previous version.
