A very large meeting of ratepayers of the Grafton Road District was held last evening, for tho purpose of protesting against the conduct of the trustees. The complaints appeared to bo threefold—(l.) That the largest aum of money available was to be spent for tho cutting down Grafton Road proper. (2.) That the annual meeting was held out of the district. (3.) That the other parts of the district were neglected. This meeting may, in some sonso, be called the first battle between proxies and ratepayers present. Tho proceedings are in this point of view exceedingly interesting. Tho trustees, judging by appearances, have an exceedingly hard time of it. Their decision was reversed last evening. Mr. Hughes and Mr. Dyson were, by several ratepayers, asked to resign, and they got a very cold farewell at parting. A resolution was passed calling upon tho trustees to convene a meeting of ratepayers within the district, tho day to be named by themselves.
