TARANAKI.
Augiust 12.—Edward Hearle, lately discharged from tho Constabulary, was brought ashore from ths s.s. TaranaUi, charged with stealing a cheque for £20.—The public meet ing was unanimous that tho Government should be memorialised 10 remove the Coroner, the reason given being his deafness, ana that his physical qualities were leaving him. Ho refuses to resign, although he has been naked to do so by the Superintendent.
