Mabtin's " Goak."-—Mr. John Martin, M.P., the ropealoil, aud lately elected inenibor for Meath County, has, to usotbe words of the lato Artemus Ward, been guilty of a " goak." Tho editor of Debrotl's Heraldic and Biographical House of Commons and the Judiciul Bench, states that in reply to his customary inquiry as to the armorial distinctions borne by the new member, Mr. Martin replied— "I carry no arms! This is a proclaimed distriot."
An Inducement to Visitors.—A cheerful correspondent of the little Hominy Gall of Duluth, Minn., says it is a shame for a city with such magnificent future prospects not to have a beautiful and attractive burying-place, and that, from its poverty in this respect, invalids from abroad may well hesitate in making Duluth their temporary home. j The Union Literary Socioty will meet' this evening in the Eoome, Wellesley-street, when a debate will take place on the following question :—" Can Morality bo enforced by Lav?." A meeting of tho shareholders of the Scandinavian Gold Mining Company ia convened for the 19th instant. f
