NEW ZEALAND WAS, MEDAL.
We have just seen one of the New Zealand war medals, recently received from the Imperial Government through the Commissariat, for presentation to those who have served in thes New Zealand wars froai the year 1845. It is presented to Sergeant G. Gallagher, No. 660 of the 58th Hogiment, and bears his name around the edge. It is of silver, and has on the one side the head of Her Majesty and the usual superscription; and on the reverse a chaplet of fern leaves, with the legend, " New Zealand, Virtutis Honor." It is a neatly-executed, pretty memento of services rendered to the country, and will, we have no doubt, be worn with an honorable pride.
