TOOKEY'S SHARKS IN MELBOURNE
Ox this 14th instant Tookey's shares (double istiio) were selling in Melbourne at £32 to £33, am! in Sydney at £35 to £37. On the nnivalof the llero, wo'aro informed, ono of the passengers wont aahore and forwarded a U'lejjrum to Melbourne, whicli liad the effect of bringing shares down to £22 to £23. Luter in the day, however, a telegram was forwarded through to Melbourne and Ballarat, by Greville's Tologram Company, stating that there was no foundation for ! the sudden fall in these shares, the prospects of the mine being as good as ever. Shares were again enquired for at advanced prices, and confidence roslorcd.
