CASUALTIES.
The Merope, from Canterbury, experienced a S.W. gale on the 15th and 16ih Feb., in which she lost a quarter boat and part of bulwarks. The Briton (s.), from tho Cape of Good : Hope, has arrived with the first-class passengers of the Queen of the Thames, ashore at Struys Point. The Jessie Ellingwood, from Sundswell to Melbourne, which put into St. Helena, Dec. 37th, leaky, has been condemned. A report from Capo Town, dated April 4th, states that the wreck of the Queen of'the Thames, on Struys Point, has been sold, for £15,000. Advices • from Algoa Bay of 81st March state that the Queep of the Thames, stranded at Struys Point, lies in a good position, and that, though full of water, she does not appear to-be -muoh-«3*naflged ;. when.__Bhe_Js.j,dis^ charged, it is probable that attempts will be made to float her. It is reported by cable from New York that the Dayspring, from Newcastle to Melbourne, foundered at Monte Rosa. . i The captain ,and nineteen of the crew of the Queen of the Thames, have arrived injthe ' Roman (s.), from the Cape. — Home News.
