It having appeared on the evidence of the barman that the lamp had been blown out, the case was dismissed. As3AUi/r.— C. J. Clarke was charged with having assaulted J. Grout Denby, junr. Mr. Joy for complainant.— Prosecutor deposed thut lie lived at Lucas' Creek, and that on the 2nd July defendant met him, asked him where" he was goir.g, and knocked him down with a blow.—Tho father of thg youth gonerally corroborated tho previous • evidence.— Defendant was bound over to keep the peace for three months, in his own bond for £50 Municipal Polick.—T. Ricnard, for allowing a pig to stray, was fined 55.; and A. xoung, for allowing jx goat to wander, was fined in the same amount; K.Williams, for leaving his horse watended in the pub^c street, wi liu;d 10s. and ooefca.
