In the Resident Magistrate's Court, on Wed nesday, beforo C. Mehsop, Esq., E.M., tho fol lowing cases were heard : —
Civil Cases.—Taylor v. Banncnuan, claim £11 la, for wages. Defendant admitted his liability for £d 4s. For the defeuco a witness proved that plaintiff was in l,he house as a general servant, and not as a nurso; but . Mrs. Eaunortnun was ill in bed a portion of the lime, and plaintiff had to wait upon her and givo.her medicine, &». Judgment for plaintiff £6 14s, and costs. —Norris v. GKvinin, claim 20s 7^d ; no appearanco of defendant.—Judgment by default. —Norris v. Lundon, claim £31 7s lid ; no appearanco of defendant. Judgment by default. —Mundy (collector for thoTuranga Highway Board) v. Loughin, claim £8 5s 4J, for highway rates due. — Judgment confessed, with costs.—Fleming and Stevenson v. Swinbourne, claim 30s 10d. Judgment confessed. — Fleming and Stoverison v. Brown, claim £9 lls.—Judgmont confessed.
