CORRESPONDENCE.

[We are not responsible for our Correspondents' opinions.]

To the Editor of tho Evening Stab. a Sie,— iEhe Herald, of this.morning reports Ifchat the;cause of Mohi v. Craig is ended, and in another paragraph announces that the Chief Justice has refused to prevent the logs of Craig being taken by Harris. Ib is thus apparent that the verdict of the jury will be of no benefit whatever to Craig. Mohi took the logs from Craig under a process of tho Court called an injunction, and has sold the logs to Harris, and the Court looks on at the transao--tion. | ,-..' ... i -i ' r ;: Craig has had a large'supply oflaw iri the^ Supreme Court, and" the" jury^woufcTEave" given him justice, but it appears that the Chief Justice thinks moro of law than equity. It" certainly is strange that the .Couri^cpuld. not bo, made to see tUB proceedings of: Mohi, or Mohi and Harris in the same light as the jury, and I may add every intelligent man in Auckland. It may be quite correct in law, to . keep twelve gentlemen from their, business for at least ten Hays, and then render their labours of none effect, but tho jury are not the men I take them to be if thoy quietly submit to such treatment, without representing it in the proper quarter; and it is earnestly" to be hoped that the notoriously bad treatment Craig has had may lead to a reform in tho law oourts of New Zealand.—-I am, &c, Meboatob.'
