LEASES AT UPPER TARABU. [feom otje own correspondent.] Geahamstowit, 3 p.m. The Caledonian have brought up this morning two and a-half hundred weight of specimens. They are now timbering for a fortnight's working : on the main lode. Tookey's (Woo) d tributers have taken out another thirty pound of specimens this morning. They have commenced a crushing on 30 tons from the old, and 30 tons from the new leader. Dixon's No. 1 are still crushing, and the stuff going through is showing up for about two ounces to the ton. Ten tons have given 70 ounces of amalgam. The Moanatairi Union hare commenced a crushing on .fifty tons of stuff. The City of London and Unicorn are also crushing. The leases on Upper Tararu are to be refused in future, unless it is shown , that £50 an acre has been expended within three months after the application.
