POLICE COURT.—Monday.

[Before Thoaias Beckham, Esq., R.M.]

Deunetcnness. —For first offences, A.McMillan was fined ss; Q-. Edwards and Eliza M'G-irm, 10s each ; John Hamilton, W. Davidpon, and F. Johnson, 20s each. For second offences, John Collins and Honora M'Q-rath were fined 20s each, all with tbe usual alternative. Patrick Reilly forfeited bail. Thomas B. Hannaford, for being drunk and disorderly, was fined 20s and costs, or to be imprisoned 48 hours, with hard labour. John Jones, for the same offence, forfeited bail.

Laeobnt,—Jameß Kean was charged by John Connolly with having stolen 38 lbs. of bacon, value 30s.—J. Connolly deposed that on the 15th inst., between 7 and 8 p.m., he missed the bacon now produced, from his shop.—Catherine Townsend deposed that' prisoner had sold her the bacon produced,, saying it was his property.—Robert Temahan deposed that he had arrested prisoner on suspicion, having seen him come out of prosecutor's shop.—Remanded till Wednesday, on the request of prisoner, for the production of the man alleged by him to have sold him the bacon.

Assault.—J. A. Lindsey pleaded guilty to havin<r assaulted Catherine To#nsend; ordered to find security for good behaviour for three months, his own bond in £20, and two sureties' of £10 each.

Impounding- Act.—Robert Condell and W. Burton, for allowing horses to stray, were each fined 5s and costs.

Municipal Polioe Act.—The charge laid by Mr. Young against Captain JEVeer, for using threatening language, was settled out of Court. Mr. Sheehan for the complaint, Mr. Beveridge for the defence.
