McLeod's libel case has been adjourned till next session.—Barton surrendered on his recognisances, and asked to be discharged. Application was deferred, pending the discharge of the G-rand Jury.—ln course of proceedings, Maccassey read his telegram, intimating that the rumoured prosecution had been abandoned, because the Times employees intended to avail themselves of their privilege. Sought intimation given to Barton, and considered the abandonment of proceedings taken an acknowledgment of the truth of the statement published by him. He intends, without delay, instituting civil proceedings for malicious prosecution against those who instituted proceedings against him.
