Mails will close as under : —

For Thames, this day, at 5.80 p.m., and tomorrow, at, 10.30 a.m. and 4 p.m, For Whitiangi, per Mary Ellen, to-morrow, at 5 p.m. For Wanganui, per St. Kilda, on Wednesday, • 31st inst., at 8 a.m. For Napier and Q-isborne, per Star of the South, on- Wednesday, 31st inst., at noon. Late letters and telegrams for transmission from the Napier station will be received at this office till 12.30 p.m. Mails for the undermentioned places, per s s. Hero, will close at this office on Wednesday, 31s£ inst., as under :—

For India, China, Mauritius, Mediterranean Port, and Continent of Europe, at 1 p.m. For the Australian Colonies, at 2 p.m., For "United Kingdom via Suez and Southampton (for letters specially so addressed), at 2 p.m.

For United Kingdom via Marseilles and Brindisi, at 2.30 p.m. For money orders, registered letters, and news-

papers, at noon. Late letters for Sydney, Melbourne, and United Kingdom via Southampton, bearing a fee of 3d and 6d in addition to the postage, will be received at this office till 2.30 p.m. For Sydney, per Kate, on Thursday, Ist June, at 11 a.m. For Tauranga, Napier, and the Southern Provinces, per Lord Ashley, immediately after arrival of the Nebraska from Honolulu.

For Taranaki and the Southern Provinces, per s.s. Phcobe, immediately after arrival of Nebraska from Honolulu.

For Sydney and the Australian Colonies, per Nebraska, 10 hours after her arrival from Honolulu.
