A meeting of the Hauraki Goll Mining Company was held last evening, Mr. Stanni in the chair. A committee was appointed to draw up and amend the rules, which are to be submitted to a general meeting, to be held on Monday next. About 100 members hare taken shares.

"His Honor the Chief Justice was occupied the whole of yesterday with bankruptcy business. J. Dunnet passed hia last examination, and was discharged without opposition ; al-o, G-eorge Henry Evans. The principal case was that of W. S. Laurie, whose certificate was suspended for six months. The case of A. E. Cohen came on, but the accountant gave evidence that a large number of leaves had been removed from the journal, the ledger, and letter book, which leuves related to Must and Co.'s account,to Lipstine's account, and to the account of a person named Harris. A somewhat recriminatory cross-examiuation occasioned a little excitement. The Court adjourned shortly before six o'clock.
