May 13. —In Parliament the opposition are baiting the Government with reference to the management of the mining department and the land administration, but obtained no advantage.—The cheap railway constiuction party are making demonstrations.—Mr.Purkes, of Sydney, had an interview with Sir James M'Culloch relative to the mail route via California.—There has been an extensive robbery of opium. Six hundred pounds worth has been stolen from a bonded store.—The Governor is suffering from sciatica. —The' breads tuffs market is rising. Flour has been sold at £16 10s to £17. Sugar firmer.
