BOWING CLUB ATHLETIC SPORTS.
These sports, which are to come off in the Albert Burracks ou Wednesday next, promise, to be in ever/ way a great success. ScverZ prices were offered by the Rowirg Club, also by p.'vate individuals, and the management of the Theatre Eojal b^-.ve given a very handsome silver cup towards the same objeb!. Wednesday has bee? fixed for the sports to come off, unci a petition has bean driwn np and sent round to the numerous merchants in town, asking them to close their places of 'easiness in the 3 afternoon, ' r order to give their e-.nplo-jli a halfholiday ro attend the sports. To this they have illiberally responded, and Wednesday afternoon will be kept a3 a hr.lf-holiday. For ulitt last fortnight or threo weeks the intending _ competitors have been in training, and hc-clly a morning or afternoon passes but large numbers of . ticra rr.ay be seen tying their powers round ?;:ie barrack green.
