Tbe question wus 83 to the jurisdiction of the Court a.id the co=i iv the cause.—Mr. Reel for pi. mt:ff, and Mr. Hesketh for tbe defendant.—The cene was further adjourned to next Court-day. SIEWAKT V. Rennir.—Claim, £22. Mr. Hesketh for the plaintiff.— Frederick Farrell, clerk to J. S. MatfarJane, agent for the schooner Onward, of wliieh plaintiffis mester, proved the case. R?n;ne came from the Fijii with two natives. The co-^pleinant Instructed witness to make out the presage recount (£10) for Ronnie s p-ss.ige, end l'; 6 for eroh of the natives. Th's money hr.d not been paid. Eennie.wai out of the province.—Crossexamined by Mr. MacCormick : Witness could not swear that thero had been a contract for any les3 sum.—Mr. Mr.vCornrck said his cHent was in no way reeprinsible for the passages of the two natives.—Adjourned. Pbsndekgast v. Todd.—Claim, £49 ss. 6J.. Mr. Hay for the plaintiff. Mr. Hesketh for the defendant.—Thn was an action for services brought against ihe legal representative of the lat3 Mr. Richard Todd, who w.es killed by the natives at Pivongia.—Judgment for plaintiff.
