BLENHEIM.

May 3, 11.25 a.m.—A second fire was discovered on board the ship Malay, about 3 o'clock on Tuesday morning. It has since been extinguished. Persons arrived in Blenheim suppose tbe fire to have originated between a bulo of flax and some skins. The fire was confined to that part of the vessel where the flax, wool, and grain is stored. Only the outside bales of flax were destroyed by the fire. The damaged cargo amounts to thirty bales wool, forty-five of flax, and sixty sacks of grain. The vessel is uniuiured. All insured. An inquiry is expected. * Cause unknown. Circumstances suspicious. Captain absent at Wanganui.
