LATEST SOUTHERN TELEGRAM'S. By the s.s, Napier we have receivod Napier papers to the IStli instant. We take the following :— NELSON. March 17. —In the libel case, Sir D. Monro against the proprietors of the Colonist, defendant applied to-day for an extension of time and enlargement of the rule under which an application was to be made for a criminal information. Granted until next sifting after vacation.—Sir David Monro has been served with copy of petition against his return, on the ground of certain charges of personations, bribery, and treating.
