CORRESPONDENCE.
"We are not responsible for our Correspondent*' opinions. ™"
To the Editor of the Evening Stab.
Sic,—The subject of your leader on Tu eß . day last compels -me to trespass upon your apace. In that article you urge upon every man, who is legally entitled to do bo, the necessity of having his name placed upon the electoral roll, by sending in his registration form dui-ing the ensuing month. Thafc every one should secure for himself the rights end privilege of having a voice in the selection of those -who are to represent us in Parliament is a duty ■which we a'e called upon to discharge. But, when parties go to the trouble of forwarding their claims to vote, within the prescribed period, they naturally expect such notice to be taken of their applications as to see their names recorded in the roll. Now, sir, I forwarded my registration form last year to the Eeturning Officer, within the legal time, legally filled up, legally attested by a magistrate, and I consider I am legally entitled to have my name placed upon the Electoral Roll; but a» yet the cognomen of your humble servant is non est in its pages. Nor is my case an isolated one. However, I mean to test the truth of the old adage, " Try again ;" by once more sending in my claim to the enjoyment of the rights and privileges of a free and independent elector. —I am, &c., ; r,
