District Judge.] His Honoe sat in Chambers to-day, and disposed of the following business :—
Ltjsk v. Midnight Gold Mining Company.—This was a claim by a solicitor to gold mining company, and the case haring been called upon, it was agreed that the point in dispute should be referred to the Court of Appeal upon a case to be stated by the District Judge. The sitting to-day was to determine the precise point at issue be.ween the parties. The plaintiff was solicitor to the defendants, aud had acted for them in that capacity before their incorporation. He liad also acted for them subsequently to their incorporation. The question now was as to the liability of the company for charges made before the date of incorporation. The judgment of the Court of Appeal will affect oiany similar cases. The terms of the issue were agreed upon accordingly, and the case was referred to the decision of ths Court of Appeal at Wellington.
