ELECTION MATTERS.

Mr. Gillies addressed a large meeting of electors at the Mechanics' Institute yesterday evening, and will address the electors this evening at the schoolrom, corner of Hobson and Vincent streets. The declaration of the poll for tho district of Eden took place at the Newmarket tollbar yesterday afternoon. Tho succcssf:il aud defeated candidates were both present, and addressed the electors.
