SHOTOVER. No. 1 GOLD MINING COMPANY.
The half-yearly meeting of shareholders was held this forenoon, Arhen the Directors' report andbalance sheet for the six months'ending 31st December,slß7O, were read, and adopted unanimously. It appeared that, after providing for all outstanding accounts, a balance remains to the credit of the Company of £2,252 19s. 2d.
The mine manager's|report was also read, and satisfaction was expressed at the increased economy and efficiency of mining operations under the present management. During the six months there have been crushed 7663 tons of stone, producing 5940 ounces of gold, or an average of 15 dwts. 12 grs. per ton, the whole of which has come from surface workings.
