ARRIVAL OF THE CLYDE.
The clipper schooner Clyde, Captain Austen, arrived in harbour this morning, from Fijis, after a fair passage of fourteen days. She comes back in ballast, and is in a most cleanly condition. Captain Austen reports : —The Clyde left Auckland on the. 14th December, with a slight southerly wind, which carried us to the Little Barrier, when we *»ere becalmed for two days ; thence had very light winds to the Poor Knights, from which place we took our final departure. From Friday, the 16tb, had moderate winds from S.W. and S.S.E., with fine pleasant weather. On the 23rd December made the Island of Contora, being seven dajs from land to land. Thence to Levuka had light winds and fine weather, arriving in Levuka harbour on the 24th ultimo, after a ten days' passage. Discharged and took in return cargo, leaving for Auckland on Monday, January 2nd. lor six days had very light winds, with a heavy swell from the southward, and on the 9th got moderate N.W. winds. On the following day the wind veered to the S.W., and continued the same till the 12th, when it shifted to S.E., and continued till the 14th. Made the Poor Knights same day, thirteen days from Levuka, and arrived in harbour at 5 a.m. yesterday.
