PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.
At the meeting of the Provincial Council yesterday a petition was presented from the Society of Eriends in favour of the passing of the permissive clause of the Licensing Bill. Various questions were asked and the hour of meeting of Council was fixed at one p.m., Monday being included in the sitting days. The Estimates were further considered in committee. Koad Bill No. 3 was read a third time and passed, and the Council adjourned at 11.30 p.m.
