POLICE COURT.-Mondat. (Before Joseph May, Esq , J.P-) DRYNESS.-Mary South, Honora Smith, and Ellen McLean, were each fined 5s and costs, or in default 24 hours imprison me «.t with hard labor, an I Thomas Re.d, being his second offence, was fined 10s, oi *o 10BREiCH otthe IMPOUNDING- Act.— James Harris was chained witn a breach of the above offence, by allowing cattle to Bttav : in St. Stephen's Road, Parnell, on the sth inst Prisoner pleaded guilty, and was ordered to rmya.fineof.ss and costs.-Another case.John Hill was charged by Constable a. Glarke with a breach of the Impounding Act, by al lowing 5 cows to stray on the Karangahapc Rp«id, Newton, on the Bth January.—bmed 5s and costs—William Aicken was charged with a similar offence by allowing several horses to stray in a public thoroughfare,— Fined 5s and posts.—A. Crockett was brought up for the s>.me offence, having allowed a horse to st'-ay in Parnell. Fined 5s ana cosls. Embezzlement.—John Hoggarth, a 7°^PS man, was charged with embezzling£ls 6s Bad,8 a d, the property of his master, John Waddell. At the request of Mr. Inspector Broliam, prisoner was remanded till Friday next.
