The s.s. Taranaki was to leave Wellington for this port via Napier on the 3rd inst. The Lord Ashley arrived at Wellington on the Ist inst. The ship Melita, Grant, master, arrived m harbour on Sunday afternoon, after a passage of 113' days. She left the Isle of Wight on the 17th September, after knocking about ten days before getting clear of the land. She was equally unfortunate in making land hero, as she was seven or eight days beating about outride the heads. The passage otherwise was a yery fine one.— Wellington Independent, Jan. 3.
