Justices.)

Drunk and Disorderly.—Jim (a Kanaka) for being drunk and disorderly was fined 20s. and costs.

Vagrancy.—Ann Young, charged with having no lawful visible v e.ms of support, was sent to gaol for three months. —Bridget Ga:diner. against whom a similnr charge had been previously laid and withdrawn on a a promise to leave the town, was again brou (lit up, an 1 on the evidence of detectives Murphy and Ternahan, convicted of being an idle and disorderly character, and sent to gaol for two months.

Impounding Act.—Zechariah Sandal, for allowing two hors-s to stray, was fined 10s nnd costs. —John Low was charged with allowing a horse to stray, but showing that the horse had got accidentally out of the stable, which hud been closed, the case was dismissed.

Municipal Police Act.—Charles McDonald, for not having his name painted on his cart,.was fined ss. and cost 3. —Edward Robinson was charged with being away from his horse a-id vehicle, in Queen-street, and fined u3 nnd cost?.

TiißfUTEXixr; La-ctagk.—William Ellis, apprehended on warrant, was charged with thivnlening to t-dsc the life of his wife, Margaret Ellis.—Proseculrix stated that he was a good man when sober, and that on account of his buing in Lad health she did not desire to press the charge, which was accordingly dismissed. A* charge of petty larceny against a Lid, which appeared to linvu been only a "lark" on his part, was dismissed. Ass a vvr.— Edward Nolan wa.s charged with having violently assaulted Bnrtolomeo Do li Piani^on the 27th December, by striking him on the hend with a slick.—Air. Joy for the prosecution, -Mr. McGregor for the defence. — In consequence of the summons having been just, served, the case wni .sdjourno.l till Wednesday.
