THE OCEAN EXPRESS.
We have had the pleasure of perusing a copy of the " Ocean Express," being the journal of the ship City of Auckland during her recent voyage to our coasts. The contents, which partake of the character of ship's newspapers, are exceedingly readable, and at times piquant, having of course a special interest in the eyes of the voyagers by the good ship. The " get up " is considerably neater than usually characterises publications of the kind, and in a tasteful cover bearing the figure of the favorite ship, it will be a pleasant souveneir of the past in many a settler's home. The purpose of the publication is sacred, the proceeds being devoted to the Royal Alfred Aged Merchant Seamen's Institution. It has been printed at the Herald Office, and we presume is published at the same place.
