HERR AND MRS. BAND MANN.

The Theatre Royal was last night again densely crowded to see the magnificent acting of these genuine performers. The play was the tragedy of " Othello," which is well adapted to display the peculiar ability of Herr Bandmanu, and the tender and pathetic impersonation ofMrs. Bandmaun, in the character of Dcsdemona. It is no exaggeration to say that the confiding affection, maddening jealousy, and the remorse of the Moor, have never been better represented on the stage in Auckland, the impersonation of the character by 11 err Bandmann being preferred by many to the best efforts of Mr. Walter Montgomery, while the faithful but unhappy Desdemona, as delineated by the hands of Mrs. Bandmann, left nothing to be desired by the most fastidious. Most of the other characters were exceedingly well sustained, that of the "honest lago" especially so, Mr. Kyan having a speciality in his powers of presenting the villainous element in human nature. In the " Lady of Lyons," which is on the programme for to-night, Herr Bandmann as Claude Melnotte, and his accomplished wife as Pauline, will sustain parts that will present a rare attraction to all. lovers of genuine acting. The pains that have been taken to lit up this little theatre have made it now one of the prettiest and most comfortable places of amusement in the colony, aud contribute greatly to make now a night at the Theatre Royal one of the most pleasurable entertainments that could possibly be desired.
