YACHT RACE.

No little interest was evinced this morning in the race between two new yachts, owned by Messrs. Clare and Weymouth, a large number of persons assembling on the wharf to witness the contest. The two boatshad previously sailed over the same ground for a prize of £5, Mr. Clare's boat proving an easy winner. Mr. Weymouth however, being still of opinion that his boat was superior to that of Mr. Clare offered to sail the match again for £10, which was at once accepted by Mr. Clare, the race to come off this morning. At eleven o'clock the two boats started from the wharf, getting away together. There was a fre.'h southerly breeze, and in a very short tiirie the two boats were off the North Head, Air. Clai'e's yacht, at the timo of the Go-Ahead passing her, being leading by some four lengths. After rounding the buoy of Drunken Bay, the two boats stretched across to the South shore Weymouth's yacht leading by a con siderablo distance, although Clare's yacht was to the windward. The race was not concluded when we went to press.
