A RRIVAL OF THE AUCKLAND.
The A'.S.N, Cos. s.s. Auckland, Captain Francis Moore, arrived in harbour thi9 morning after a good passage of 7 days, her detention at Fiji having been caused partly by the vessel grounding at Suva for twenty-four hours, and circumstances over which Captain Moore had no control. We are indebted to Mr. Eeed for files, and the following report of the passage : —The Auckland left Auckland at 11 a.m. on November 6 ; owing to some disarrangement in the machinery brought up in Kawau Bay at 4 pm. same day ; got underweigl) again at 5 a.m. on Bth ; arrived at Suva at 5.15 p.m. on 13th , left again at 8 am. on 15th, and arrived in Levuka at 4 30 p.m. same day ; experienced light head winds for first part of the passage from Auckland, then fresh easterly winds and thick dirty weather and confused sea, and light E.N.E. winds and fine wenther with occasional squalls the latter part of the trip j experienced from Suva to Levuka moderate N.N.E. winds and fine weather. She left Levuka at 7 a.m. 19th ; arrived in Suva at 3 p.m. same day ; left again at 6 a.m. 23rd inst. ; experienced moderate southerly breeze first part of passage, light head winds and fine weather the middle part, light southerly breeze and cloudy weather latter part tilfoff Hen and Chickens, and S.S.W, breeze, and heavy rain from thence till arrival. PA3SEN&ER3 —from Levuka to Auckland: — Mrs. Eastgate and family, Lord Pembroke, Dr. Kingsley,Meßsrs. Mitchell, Kinsey, Petschler, Hudson, Luscombe, and Caldicott, and 7in the steerage. For bydney : —Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Ball, and 3 in the steerage. For Melbourne : Messrs. Proctor, Smith, Hepburn and sin the steerage. Suva to Melbourne :— Mrs McCartney, servant and family (2).
