A long debate occurred on the report of ihe committee us to the disposal of the Pert Britomarfc and Albert Bmi'iu-ks reserve, and an amendment of Mr. Brool field's was carried that they should be handed over as a harbour endowment, one h.ilf of the barrack reserve being retained as a park. Tho Provincial Secretary made his financial statement., Jho Highways Bill was advanced a stage in committee, and the Council adjourned The mpt.'t-
ing this evening of the Council will be a brief one from this being St. Andrew's Day.
