YagbawcY.—Mary Dunmore being proved to be a person of most disorderly conduct, and-most of her time in gaol, was sent back to Mount Eden for three months. Municipal Police Act—G-. Cook anil W. J. Crow for permitting cattle to stray were each fined 5s and costs, or to be imprisoned 7 days. Licensing Act. —Thomas McMahon of the "Nottingham Castle," and John "Beck, of tlie "Royal Oak," for neglecting to keep lights burning at the doors of their hotels, were fined ench 5s and costs.

City Hates.—The charge against Nasliand Co for non-payment of city ratfs, owing to the information in the summons as being addressed to a firm, was withdrawn. Assault. Joseph Osborne was charged with having assaulted Martha Lamb on the 28th November, by striking her with his fist. Yfr. Macgregor for the prosecution, Mr. Wynn for the defence.—Mrs. Lamb detailed at "great, length the circumstances preliminary to the assault, in which the free use of si "bucket, of slush" dashed at intervals in the face or defendant, was followed by his striking her violently in the face and throwing th • bucket into the tide—Mary Cox corroborated the previous eridence, and the defendant was fined 20s and cost.-;.
